Poland suspects assassination attempts on Tusk, minister
Poland's interior ministry said Sunday that Prime Minister Donald Tusk and Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz may have been targeted by assassination attempts.
Interior ministry spokeswoman Karolina Galecka wrote on X that the ministry had ordered authorities to act after police received information about a possible assassination attempt on the prime minister and the deputy prime minister.
Galecka said members of the police, the state protection service and the internal security agency would be present at a meeting Sunday.
Poland, a NATO and EU member on the eastern flank of both blocs, has been on high alert after multiple stabbing attacks in the past week. Tusk denounced the attacks on Thursday as a "cult of violence".
