NIQ and Google partner on agentic commerce

NielsenIQ and Google announced a collaboration aimed at developing agentic commerce, the use of AI systems to help discover, recommend and buy products.

The companies said NIQ plans to combine its retail and product intelligence with Google’s AI commerce systems to improve product discovery and local availability. NIQ also named Google Cloud as a primary AI and cloud services provider and said it plans to deploy Gemini for business across its global workforce.

NIQ and Google said the work covers three areas: wider use of Google Cloud and Gemini inside NIQ, commerce innovation around product discovery and local availability, and integration of Google’s Meridian marketing model mix framework into NIQ Cadence.

The companies said Google’s Shopping Graph includes more than 60 billion product listings, while NIQ’s product intelligence covers more than 250 million products and store and sales data across 90 countries.
