Nikkei jumps more than 3% on chip rally

Japan's Nikkei 225 index jumped more than 3 percent on Thursday after strong gains by technology companies including Kioxia, Advantest, Tokyo Electron and investor SoftBank.

At around 2:50 pm in Japan, the Nikkei 225 was up 3.25 percent at 68,924.13 points.
