James Comey charged over alleged defense leak
Former FBI director James Comey has been charged over an alleged leak of national defense information, according to a criminal complaint unsealed Monday.
The complaint accuses Comey of communicating the information in October 2016, when he led the FBI, to a person not entitled to receive it.
It is the third criminal case brought against Comey, an outspoken critic of US President Donald Trump. Comey was charged in September last year with making false statements to Congress, but a federal judge threw out that case. In April, he was indicted again for allegedly threatening Trump's life in an Instagram post.
Uncertainty notes
The allegations in the new criminal complaint remain allegations.
