Italy inflation jumps to 5.4% in October

Italian inflation rose to 5.4 percent in October from a year earlier, up from 4.2 percent in September, Italy's statistics agency Istat said Friday.

Istat said the increase was mainly driven by higher energy, food and transport prices.

The October rate was above the European Central Bank's 2 percent inflation target for the eurozone.
