Gaza strikes kill seven, rescuers and hospitals say
Gaza rescuers and hospitals said Israeli strikes in separate parts of the Gaza Strip killed seven Palestinians on Tuesday, including a man and woman hit near Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City.
Civil defence spokesperson Mahmoud Bassal and Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Hospital said two men were killed in strikes in Al-Zawaida and the Wadi Gaza area in central Gaza. Bassal and Al-Shifa Hospital said another person was killed in Jabalia al-Balad in northern Gaza, and Al-Shifa said it received the body of a person killed in Zeitoun, southeast of Gaza City.
Al-Shifa Hospital identified the couple killed in Al-Rimal, west of Gaza City, as Akram Yassin and his wife, and said several others were injured. The Israeli military later said it had killed Akram Bassam Shaaban Yassin, calling him a senior official in Hamas's general security apparatus in Gaza.
Nasser Hospital said it received the body of a teenager killed by Israeli gunfire south of Khan Younis. The Israeli military said it was checking the other reports.
The military had earlier said it killed a Hamas member in Jabalia who took part in the abduction of Shani Louk during the October 7 attack. Israel has continued striking Gaza despite a ceasefire that came into force in October 2025. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will keep targeting Hamas.
Gaza's health ministry says Israel's offensive after Hamas's October 7, 2023 attack has killed more than 74,450 people. The ministry says at least 1,500 people have been killed by Israeli attacks since the truce began. The October 7 attack resulted in 1,221 deaths, according to an AFP tally from official Israeli figures.
Uncertainty notes
The Israeli military said it was still checking several of the reported strikes.
The affiliations and identities of all those killed were not fully established in the supplied information.
The casualty figures from Gaza are attributed to local hospitals, civil defence and the Gaza health ministry.
