The European Union's central data regulator said Tuesday that smart glasses must give clear warnings when they are recording, after public concern over secretly filmed footage of girls and women.
“Smart glasses should make their recording obvious,” European Data Protection Board chair Anu Talus said.
Talus said possible warnings could include bright LED lights, audio signals, voice activation cues, privacy-friendly smartphone notifications or unique designs.
