EU urges Polish president to approve new judges

The European Commission called on Polish President Karol Nawrocki on Saturday to accept the nomination of new judges at the centre of a constitutional crisis in Poland.

A European Commission spokesman said it was for Polish authorities to ensure that the constitutional court can function in line with Poland’s constitution and with relevant European Court of Justice jurisprudence.
