Dashen Bank launches ShebaMiles Mastercard in Ethiopia
Dashen Bank and Ethiopian Airlines' ShebaMiles have launched a co-branded Mastercard debit card in Ethiopia, linking payments with airline loyalty benefits.
The companies said the card is issued by Dashen Bank, powered by Mastercard and connected to the ShebaMiles loyalty programme. They said customers can use it for everyday and travel-related payments while accessing benefits including airport lounge access, airport fast track, global data roaming and miles.
The card will be available in physical and virtual formats. The companies said customers can access the virtual card through the Dashen Bank Super App, which serves more than 2 million active monthly users.
Eligible cardholders will also have access to Mastercard Airport Experiences, which the companies said provides entry to a network of more than 1,600 airport lounges.
Mastercard, Dashen Bank and Ethiopian Airlines said the launch builds on their wider collaboration, including a strategic investment agreement supporting the card programme's rollout.
