Chanel sales rose 16% in first half, Bloomberg says
Chanel sales rose 16% in the first half of 2026 compared with 2025, Bloomberg reported in August, citing confidential sales data, as designer Matthieu Blazy marks a year since his first collection for the French fashion house.
Blazy's Spring-Summer 2026 line reached stores in March, and videos of buyers entering Chanel shops circulated widely on social media. Alix Morabito, buying director at luxury Paris department store Galeries Lafayette, said new deliveries are eagerly awaited and waiting lists can make some pieces hard to obtain.
Chanel appointed the Franco-Belgian designer in 2025 to succeed Virginie Viard. His Spring-Summer 2027 collection is due to be shown in Paris on Monday at 8 p.m. (1800 GMT).
Fashion commentators cited a shift toward everyday accessories, denim, humour and pop references, while retaining Chanel symbols including tweed, camellias, pearls, black and white, and the double C. Chanel has also taken on male ambassadors including actor Pedro Pascal, but has no official men's line.
Uncertainty notes
The sales figure is attributed to Bloomberg's report on confidential data and is not presented as a Chanel public disclosure.
