Ceuta and Melilla are Spanish, King Felipe says
King Felipe VI said Tuesday that Ceuta and Melilla were “an inalienable part” of Spain during a landmark visit to the north African territories claimed by Morocco.
Felipe, who rarely makes political interventions, said Spain and the European Union had “the will and the responsibility to maintain good neighbourly relations” with Morocco. His remarks followed an unprecedented migrant surge into Ceuta from Morocco in July.
