Zelensky plans next steps after US peace talks
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Monday that he and Ukraine's negotiating team were coordinating next steps after weekend talks with US and European officials on efforts to end the war.
Zelensky said Ukraine was preparing further meetings and communications, but he did not give details.
US negotiators Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner met Zelensky and Russia's Vladimir Putin over the weekend in a bid to restart talks on ending the four-and-a-half-year war.
A senior Ukrainian presidential source told AFP that Witkoff and Kushner brought “more effective” proposals on ending the conflict, although neither Kyiv nor Moscow announced a breakthrough.
Zelensky had also said the issue of territories could be resolved only at a meeting of leaders.
