US scraps power plant carbon limits

US President Donald Trump's administration on September 14 scrapped limits on carbon emissions from coal- and gas-fired power plants, ending a climate rule aimed at reducing pollution from the electricity sector.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin said the administration had finalised a rule proposed last year. He said the move was intended to protect American energy and keep power affordable.
