Sri Lanka gives 15 men 220-year terms over 2019 bombs
Sri Lanka's High Court on Tuesday handed 220-year jail terms to each of 15 men convicted over the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings that killed 279 people.
Earlier in the day, the court convicted 14 men on all counts of murder and terrorism. Another man was found guilty of some charges, while nine others were acquitted.
All 24 men had been arrested soon after the April 21, 2019 attacks on three hotels and three churches. The trial over the country's deadliest terrorist attack on civilians lasted five years.
