Spain U20 friendly moved from Ceuta over security

Spain's Under-20 football friendly against Mexico will be moved from Ceuta because of security concerns during a migration crisis, Spanish football federation president Rafael Louzan said on September 20.

The match had been due to take place on September 30 in the Spanish territory in north Africa. Louzan said police advised against going ahead with it in Ceuta and said the game is now likely to be played in Madrid instead.

More than 70,000 migrants entered Ceuta from Morocco on July 30 and 31 in a chaotic surge, leaving scores dead. Most returned in the following hours, but thousands remained in precarious conditions in the small city, sleeping rough or in makeshift tents.
