Ukraine bus drone strike kills 5, Kyiv says
Ukrainian officials said a Russian drone strike on a minibus near the front line in southern Ukraine killed five people and wounded at least seven on Wednesday.
Dnipropetrovsk regional governor Oleksandr Ganzha said on social media that the bus was hit by a drone in the Nikopol district.
Officials posted photos showing blown-out windows on a white minibus and blood on the side of the vehicle.
Nikopol sits across the Dnieper river from the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, which Russian troops have occupied since the first days of their 2022 invasion.
The United Nations says civilian deaths in Ukraine are at their highest level since the first months of the war amid an escalation in strikes.
