RAF Fairford vans had petrol, no explosives, police say
British counter-terror police said Tuesday that no improvised explosive devices were found in vans seen acting suspiciously near RAF Fairford, a military airbase in southwest England used by the US military.
Police said investigators recovered a quantity of petrol.
The update followed the release on bail Monday of five London-based Britons who had been arrested early Sunday on explosives and terror offences.
Uncertainty notes
Police did not state in the supplied information why the petrol was in the vans or whether it was linked to any offence.
The investigation's final findings have not been provided.
