Philippine tourists killed in Germany bus crash

Two Philippine nationals were killed on Sunday when a coach carrying tourists to Oktoberfest overturned on a motorway in southern Germany, police said.

Eight others were seriously injured in the crash, which occurred around 0400 GMT. The coach had been chartered by a travel company and was carrying around 50 Filipino tourists to Oktoberfest in Munich, a spokeswoman for the Upper Bavaria police prefecture told AFP.

Police said initial findings indicated the vehicle left the road before overturning near Buchloe, in a region close to the Austrian border. Significant emergency resources were deployed, and the motorway was closed in both directions.
