Mike Huckabee accuses UK of antisemitism over Gaza

US ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee accused Britain's government of antisemitism on Saturday after British Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband described conditions in Gaza as “horrific” and said London had to act.

“The Brits have lost it. The Jew hate of their government knows no boundaries and knows no facts,” Huckabee wrote on X in response to Miliband's remarks.

Miliband had posted a video describing a meeting on Gaza. He said people told him of medicines being blocked and children dying while waiting for life-saving equipment.

Israel's foreign ministry also criticised Miliband, accusing him of ignoring facts and of making a video for a political audience. The ministry said 22,500 tons of medical supplies had entered Gaza since a US-brokered ceasefire in October 2025.

UN humanitarian chief Tom Fletcher said in June that more aid was entering Gaza but not enough, and said Israel was restricting goods it says could have dual use, including, at times, prosthetic limbs. Aid groups say restrictions on engine oil and spare parts have made it difficult to run hospitals and other medical infrastructure.

The October 2025 ceasefire has reduced but not ended violence, with Israel routinely carrying out strikes it says target Hamas. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham's government has said it is planning measures over rising attacks by Israeli settlers against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, a move Israel says would bring retaliation.
