Hormuz Strait: Iran says ships face sanctions in new zone
Iran's top security chief Mohsen Rezaei said Iran will announce a “prohibited zone” near the Strait of Hormuz in the coming days, state media reported on Sunday.
Rezaei told state TV the zone would be outside the Strait of Hormuz, starting from what he called the US Navy's blockade line and including areas of the Persian Gulf.
“Any ship entering this new zone will be placed on the sanctions list” of Iran, Rezaei said, according to state media.
