Hurricane Polo reaches Category 5 off Mexico
Hurricane Polo reached Category 5 strength off Mexico's Pacific coast on Tuesday, with maximum sustained winds of 160 mph, or 260 kph, the US National Hurricane Center said.
The storm intensified from Category 4 as it swirled off southwest Mexico. The NHC said Polo was expected to stay at sea but could still trigger life-threatening flooding and mudslides.
