Huawei Mate XT 2 tri-fold phone starts at RMB 19,999

Huawei unveiled the Mate XT 2 | Ultimate Design tri-fold smartphone in Guangzhou on September 7, saying the device is the first smartphone to use its LogicFolding Tau chip and will start at RMB 19,999.

The company said official sales will begin at 10:08 on September 12 and the phone will be available with a stylus set. Huawei said the model uses a wing-like tri-fold design, the Kirin 9050 Pro chip and HarmonyOS 7.

Huawei said the device includes a Smart Shield Privacy Screen on some configurations, True-to-Color Camera 3.0, ECG analysis software with a Chinese NMPA Class II Medical Device Registration Certificate, Tiantong satellite communication and Beidou satellite messaging.

Several performance, durability and camera figures cited by Huawei are based on its laboratory tests, and the company said actual performance may vary. Huawei also said the phone itself is not a medical device and that ECG analysis is implemented through the ECG analysis software.
