Hayden Panettiere died from fentanyl mix, coroner says
Actress Hayden Panettiere died from the toxic effects of fentanyl combined with other drugs, the Greenville County Coroner's Office said Tuesday.
The coroner's office said an autopsy found no signs of trauma and classified the 36-year-old's death as an accident. Tests found fentanyl in combination with a generic version of Xanax, a muscle relaxant and an antipsychotic drug.
Panettiere, known for the TV series “Heroes” and “Nashville”, was found unresponsive at a home in South Carolina last month.
US media said long-term partner Brian Hickerson and his brother found her, and that Hickerson handed paramedics a bag of medications while they gave Panettiere Narcan, a drug used to counter the effects of a fentanyl overdose. She was declared dead at the scene.
Panettiere's credits also included “Remember The Titans”, “Ice Princess”, “Scream 4” and “Scream VI”. In a memoir released in May, she described the pressures of being a child star and her experiences with alcohol and opioid addiction and recovery.

The supplied information does not establish where Panettiere obtained the drugs.
