George Clooney says US run by least qualified people

George Clooney said Wednesday that the United States would get through what he called an “unfortunate” period under the Trump administration, describing the government as run by the “least qualified people”.

“There's a great word, a kakistocracy, which is a country run by the least qualified people. I think maybe we have a kakistocracy right now, but we'll get through it,” Clooney told journalists.

He spoke ahead of the Venice Film Festival's opening night, where he was due to receive a Golden Lion prize for career achievement.
