G20 finance leaders except China urge safe Hormuz transit
G20 finance leaders, excluding China, urged “free, safe, and predictable” navigation through the Strait of Hormuz in a statement released at the close of US-hosted talks on Tuesday.
China objected to the paragraph containing that language.
The G20 Chair's statement said continued disruptions to energy trade were a concern and said safe navigation through the Strait of Hormuz and worldwide, along with the resolution of ongoing wars and conflicts, was essential to sustaining durable growth.
