Die Linke leads CDU in Berlin exit polls

Germany's far-left Die Linke led Chancellor Friedrich Merz's centre-right CDU in Berlin's city-state election on Sunday, exit polls by public broadcasters ARD and ZDF showed.

Die Linke, led by top candidate Elif Eralp, was projected at 24.5% to 26%. The CDU, which currently runs Berlin's coalition government, was projected at 20%.
