Ceuta migrants: Spain says 48,300 returned to Morocco

Spain's interior ministry said more than 48,000 migrants had returned to Morocco from Ceuta after tens of thousands crossed into the Spanish North African enclave in recent days. The ministry said 48,300 migrants had gone back across the border as of 6:00 pm on Friday.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez, facing criticism from some EU counterparts over the influx, said Friday on X that “this is not the time to divide” and called for “a strong and united EU”. His post included statistics on irregular entries into other parts of Europe.
