British embassy guard held in alleged Ukraine plot, FSB says
Russia's FSB security service said on September 10 that it had detained a Russian security guard working at Britain's embassy in Moscow, alleging he was recruited for a Ukrainian false-flag plot against British diplomats.
The FSB said the guard had been hired by a Ukrainian blogger working with Ukraine's SBU security agency to monitor events, people and security arrangements at the British embassy.
The FSB alleged that Ukraine planned to use the information to prepare attacks against the head of the British diplomatic mission and other diplomats, and then blame Russia.
Kyiv and London had not responded to the allegations.
Britain is one of Ukraine's closest allies and has provided military and financial aid. Relations between Russia and Britain were strained before Russia launched its full-scale offensive in Ukraine in 2022, including over earlier spy and poisoning cases.
Uncertainty notes
The allegations have not been confirmed by Kyiv or London in the supplied material.
The source material does not provide the detained guard's name or any court status.
