Bondi Beach: man charged over 90-year-old woman's death

Australian police have charged a 47-year-old man with domestic violence murder after a 90-year-old woman was fatally stabbed near Sydney's Bondi Beach on Sunday, New South Wales police said.

Emergency services were called to Chambers Avenue at about 5:15 p.m. after a reported stabbing a few metres from the beach. Police said the woman was found with significant injuries to her torso and died at the scene.

Police said the man was known to the woman and had been refused bail.
