Amazon pauses work with owner of crashed Miami cargo plane
Amazon said Sunday it is pausing operations with 21 Air LLC, the company that owned a Boeing 767 cargo plane that crashed in Miami on September 6, killing five people on the ground.
Kelly Nantel, an Amazon spokesperson, said the company had been supporting the investigation and reviewing the circumstances around the crash before deciding to pause work with 21 Air. She said Amazon would continue to support the investigation and those affected.
The cargo plane overshot the runway after landing, went through a perimeter fence and crashed into two vehicles. The two pilots who were injured have been released from hospital.
National Transportation Safety Board chief Jennifer Homendy said Tuesday that investigators were reviewing the plane's flight data and cockpit voice recorders. Flight data released by investigators suggested the plane tried to abort a landing before the crash.
Uncertainty notes
The final cause of the crash has not been established in the supplied information.
