Algeria replaces finance and agriculture ministers

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune carried out a partial cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday, replacing the finance and agriculture ministers and several other officials.

Central bank governor Mohammed Lamine Lebbou was named finance minister, replacing Abdelkarim Bouzred, who had held the post since February 2025.

Sid Ali Khaldi was given the agriculture portfolio, replacing Yacine El Mahdi, whose departure comes amid legal proceedings surrounding the importation of sheep for the Eid al-Adha holiday.

Zouhir Bouamama was replaced as communications minister by Mohamed Bouslimani, who previously held the post. Ombudsman Mohamed Hattab was named labour minister, replacing Abdelhak Saihi.

The presidency gave no reason for the reshuffle.
