AFP selects five sub-Saharan Africa features

AFP has listed five selected features from sub-Saharan Africa for republication, covering migration, culture, illegal mining, urban transport and colonial-era heritage.

The selection includes a profile from Mbour, Senegal, on Aminata Boye and families of missing migrants; a feature from Accra on Ghanaian fantasy coffins; and a report from Johannesburg on road and building damage linked to illegal mining.

It also includes a report from Kinshasa on the return of the Democratic Republic of Congo capital's only urban rail link after 15 years in disuse, and a feature from Principe on former colonial-era plantations in Sao Tome and Principe that are now part of UNESCO's World Heritage List.
