US Open tickets: New York offers residents $100 seats

New York residents will be able to buy 1,000 US Open tickets for $100 each under an offer announced by Mayor Zohran Mamdani and the US Tennis Association on Tuesday.

The tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents can buy up to two tickets each.

The offer covers matches from August 30 to September 8 and includes seats in the main Arthur Ashe Stadium through the first quarterfinal stage of the tournament.

Mamdani said New Yorkers should be able to watch the tournament in their city. USTA chief executive Craig Tiley said the association wanted as many people as possible to experience the US Open.

TicketData, a price tracking platform, said the cheapest US Open ticket was currently selling for about $288 on average. Visitors can attend qualifying matches with a free pass during the week before the tournament, from August 23 to 29.
