Ozon says drone attack wounds several in Russia

Russian e-commerce company Ozon said a drone attack caused a fire at a logistics centre in Makhachkala on Monday and preliminary information showed several people were wounded, as Ukraine continued a campaign targeting Russian logistics sites.

Ozon said the wounded were not in life-threatening condition. It said warehouses in Adygeysk and Nevinnomyssk, also in southern Russia, were evacuated because of the threat of a drone attack, with no injuries or damage to the facilities.

Earlier Monday, Ozon said a major fire was burning at one of its logistics centres in the Krasnodar region after a drone attack. The company said staff were evacuated and that, preliminarily, there were no casualties there.

The attacks extended a series of strikes on Ozon sites. On Sunday, Ozon said a fire broke out at its logistics hub in the Orenburg region after a drone attack and that warehouse operations were suspended. A day earlier, an Ozon centre in the Samara region was hit, with the company reporting an unspecified number of wounded workers. A logistics centre next to an Ozon facility on the outskirts of Saint Petersburg was also hit.

Ukraine's defence ministry said Saturday that after Ukrainian units hit the 15 largest logistics hubs of Wildberries, Russia's largest online retailer, “it is now Ozon's turn.” Kyiv has alleged that Wildberries supplied components to the Russian military.

Ozon is Russia's second-largest online marketplace. Russia has condemned the strikes as attacks on civilian infrastructure during its full-scale offensive against Ukraine.
