Ukraine strikes kill 11 in Russia and Crimea: officials
Russian officials said Ukrainian strikes killed 11 people in a Russian Black Sea resort village and in Moscow-annexed Crimea, while Ukrainian officials reported deaths and injuries from Russian attacks in Ukraine.
The crisis task force for Russia's southern Krasnodar region said the death toll from a drone attack on Arkhipo-Osipovka rose to seven, including three children. Krasnodar governor Venyamin Kondratyev earlier said Ukraine had struck the Black Sea resort with a drone.
Unverified social media footage appeared to show a drone crashing into a busy beach at Arkhipo-Osipovka as tourists watched from the shore and the water.
Sergey Aksyonov, the Moscow-installed governor of Crimea, said four people were killed in a Ukrainian strike on the peninsula.
In Ukraine, Oleksandr Ganzha, governor of Dnipropetrovsk region, said a Russian attack on Kryvyi Rig, President Volodymyr Zelensky's home city, killed three people, including an eight-year-old boy. Odesa regional governor Oleg Kiper said another Russian attack wounded 13 people in the southern Odesa region.
The Black Sea coast and Crimea are summer destinations popular among Russian tourists. Russia launched its full-scale offensive against Ukraine in February 2022 and has regularly struck Ukraine, including from Crimea.
Ukraine has in recent months intensified counter-strikes on Crimea, which Moscow seized in 2014. The United Nations has reported an increase in civilian deaths in the conflict during 2026.
