TikTok fined $30m in Brazil over child data
Brazil's National Data Protection Agency said Tuesday it fined TikTok nearly $30 million over what it called irregularities in the processing of data belonging to children and adolescents.
The agency, known as ANPD, said the fine totals 153.7 million reais, or $29.9 million. It also ordered TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, to delete data collected in violation of regulations.
The ANPD said TikTok has committed to implementing a compliance plan to improve protection for children and adolescents.
