Russia says drone crash kills two; Wildberries site burns

Russian officials said a drone crash killed two people in the Lipetsk region and Ukrainian drone strikes set fire to a Wildberries logistics centre in the neighbouring Tambov region overnight Tuesday to Wednesday.

Lipetsk governor Igor Artamonov said a drone crashed and caused a fire in a house. He said a man and a 14-year-old child died.

Tambov governor Yevgeny Pervychov said Ukrainian drone strikes caused a fire at a Wildberries logistics centre in Kotovsk, about 500 kilometres southeast of Moscow. He said the fire covered more than 100,000 square metres.

Russia's defence ministry said its air defence systems intercepted and destroyed 426 Ukrainian drones during the night.

Wildberries is Russia's largest online retailer. Kyiv alleges the company supplies components to the Russian army. Ukrainian forces have also targeted Ozon, another major Russian e-commerce company, as strikes on both sides of the front have intensified in recent months.
