Poland opens terrorism probe into drone factory fire

Polish prosecutors opened a terrorism investigation on Monday into a fire at a drone factory in the central city of Skarzysko-Kamienna.

Prosecutors said the fire at the WB Electronics factory was started deliberately using a device containing flammable materials. Firefighters took two hours to bring the fire under control early Monday.

The country's ABW intelligence agency has joined the investigation with police. Authorities have not named a suspect.

Poland, a key ally of neighbouring Ukraine, has accused Russia several times of attempted sabotage since Russia's 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Several countries in eastern Europe have said they have been targeted by spying and sabotage as part of a “hybrid war” they blame on Russia.
