Oil tanker disabled by projectile off Oman, UKMTO says

An oil tanker was struck and disabled by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz off Oman, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations said early Tuesday.

UKMTO said the tanker's master reported damage to the engine room and said the crew was safe. No casualties were reported.

The incident occurred nine nautical miles, or 16.7 kilometres, northeast of Ash Shishah in Oman, the maritime agency said.
