Khalid Sheikh Mohammed trial set for 2028, media say

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the September 11 attacks, will face trial in a military court starting in June 2028, multiple US media outlets reported Wednesday, citing a judge's ruling.

Mohammed was considered one of Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden's top lieutenants before his capture in Pakistan in March 2003. He was held in secret CIA facilities for three years before being taken in 2006 to the US military base at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
