A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck in the Gulf of Aden between Somalia and Yemen on Friday morning local time, the United States Geological Survey said.

The shallow quake hit at 12:07 a.m. local time, or 2107 GMT Thursday, about 145 kilometres off the Somali coast, the USGS said.
