Guinea mass grave: six bound bodies found, sources say

Six male bodies that were bound and blindfolded were discovered in a mass grave in a forest in southwestern Guinea, local sources told AFP on Tuesday.

The sources said young people gathering firewood found the bodies on Monday in Allassoyah, a village in Lower Guinea's Forecariah administrative prefecture.

Local authorities and the public prosecutor visited the burial site before the bodies were exhumed, the sources said. The remains were then taken to a hospital morgue for identification and to determine the circumstances and date of burial.

A judicial investigation has been opened.

A separate mass grave containing five bodies was found in October 2025 in the same Forecariah prefecture, about 100 kilometres south of Conakry. Local media have reported that the identities of those people and the circumstances of their deaths have still not been established.
