Gaza civil defence says Israeli strikes kill three

Gaza's civil defence agency said Israeli strikes killed three people in the territory on Thursday, while the Israeli military said it had targeted Hamas militants.

The civil defence agency, which operates as a rescue force under Hamas authority, said one man died of injuries after an Israeli drone strike on a house in Al-Shati refugee camp, west of Gaza City.

It said another man was killed in an Israeli strike on his tent in the Al-Mawasi area east of Khan Yunis in southern Gaza. A third person was killed and several others were injured in an Israeli strike near an intersection in western Gaza City, the agency said.

The Israeli military told AFP it had carried out strikes against “Hamas terrorists” in those areas, without giving further details.

The strikes were the latest bloodshed in Gaza despite a US-backed ceasefire that took effect in October 2025. Israel has continued operations in Gaza, saying it is targeting militants.

Israel's army chief Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir said Tuesday that the military would continue demilitarising Gaza and disarming Hamas “using all necessary means”, despite recent US efforts to advance the ceasefire.

Gaza's health ministry, which also operates under Hamas authority, says Israeli operations in Gaza have killed at least 1,303 people since the ceasefire took effect. The United Nations considers the ministry's figures reliable. The Israeli army has reported five deaths in its ranks and one civilian contractor killed over the same period.
