Finnair suspends Dubai flights for winter season
Finnair will suspend flights between Helsinki and Dubai for the winter season because of the security situation in the Middle East, the Finnish airline said on Aug. 25.
The suspension will run from Oct. 25, 2026, to March 27, 2027. Finnair said it would contact passengers affected by the changes.
"The security situation in the Middle East has remained unstable, with no clear signs of improvement," the airline said in a statement.
Finnair had temporarily suspended Helsinki-Dubai flights between Feb. 28 and March 29, 2026. Flights to Doha, Qatar, which were also suspended, have not resumed and will not operate during the winter season for commercial reasons, the airline has said.
The announcement comes six months after the start of the Middle East war. The strategic Strait of Hormuz remains largely paralysed, and Washington and Tehran have not reached an agreement.
Uncertainty notes
Finnair did not specify when Doha flights might resume.
