Cristiano Ronaldo marries Georgina Rodriguez
Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez married on Tuesday in Cascais, Portugal, his representatives said.
Ronaldo, 41, posted a photo on Instagram showing the couple's hands with wedding bands and the caption “C” followed by a heart and “G”. Brunswick Group, which handles the footballer’s public relations, told AFP the couple’s five children attended the “private and intimate” ceremony.
The wedding took place exactly one year after Rodriguez, a 32-year-old influencer, announced their engagement on Instagram. The couple met in 2016 when Rodriguez was working in a Gucci store in Madrid.
Ronaldo currently plays for Saudi club Al-Nassr. The former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus forward played for Portugal at the World Cup this summer and has won the Ballon d'Or five times.
Rodriguez has starred in the Netflix show “I am Georgina”. The couple have more than 750 million followers between them across their social media accounts and have investments including fashion brands and a chain of hotels.
