Peru and Venezuela announce gradual restoration of diplomatic ties
Peru and Venezuela will resume diplomatic relations after cutting ties over Nicolas Maduro's disputed 2024 election win, both foreign ministries announced Friday.
Caracas broke relations with Lima in July 2024 after Peru recognised Venezuela's opposition leader as the election winner instead of Maduro, the then-incumbent, as Venezuelan electoral authorities had concluded.
