Kuwait says it destroyed Iranian drones
Kuwait's defence ministry said Friday that Kuwaiti forces destroyed Iranian drones targeting “vital and military facilities”, reporting material damage from falling shrapnel but no recorded casualties.
Iran's military had earlier said it launched drone strikes targeting US military facilities at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait. It said the targets included fighter aircraft shelters, satellite communications systems and equipment storage facilities. US Central Command had not immediately commented.
The statements came during renewed fighting between Washington and Tehran. Iran's army said the drone strikes were a response to what it called recent US aggression and a US attack on a residential home on Qeshm Island. Local media reported Thursday that three members of one family were killed in US strikes on Qeshm Island, in the Strait of Hormuz.
